Two caught in possession of drugs on Değirmenlik-Mountain Road

Two individuals stopped on the Değirmenlik-mountain road were found in possession of drugs and detained for three days.

The suspects, HC, the driver of the vehicle and EK, a passenger in the vehicle were stopped for traffic checks on the Değirmenlik-mountain road on Monday April 14. They were brought to court on Tuesday.

Police in a court statement said on April 14, 2025, at around 8:00 PM, a rental vehicle driven by HC and EK as a passenger was stopped for a routine check on the Değirmenlik-mountain road.

During a search of the vehicle, 5 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine were found under the driver's floor mat and taken as evidence.

The officer also reported that two pipes believed to contain drugs were found in the sun visor area of the vehicle.

The police noted that the investigation is still in its early stages, that the seized substances will be sent for analysis, and that statements still need to be taken. Therefore, they requested an additional three-day detention period.
