The student at the center of the headscarf controversy in northern Cyprus has withdrawn from the school

The female student who studies at İrsen Küçük Secondary School and has been at the center of the headscarf controversy in north Cyprus in recent weeks has been withdrawn from the school.

Tahir Gökçebel, the General Secretary of the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers' Union (KTOEÖS), stated in a comment to YENİDÜZEN on Monday April 14 that the student had received her school leaving certificate. 

Gökçebel added that no information was provided regarding which school the student would be enrolling in. However, according to a report by Haber Kıbrıs, the student is expected to continue her education at Hala Sultan College.
