Man causes millions in damage while driving without a license and under the influence

An individual who was charged with driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol, has been released on bail set at 80,000 TL.

The suspect, MY, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, and without a license, was brought before the court after causing a serious traffic accident involving significant property damage.

According to the police, the incident occurred on April 9, 2025, at around 5:20 AM on Şht. Mustafa A. Ruso Street. The suspect, with a blood alcohol level of 92 milligrams, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into four parked cars at a car dealership and a metal pole.

The total damage from the accident is reported to exceed 1 million TL, and since the vehicles involved were uninsured, the losses are not covered by insurance.

Police requested bail, citing charges including driving under the influence, reckless and dangerous driving, speeding, driving without a license, and driving an uninsured vehicle.

The court ruled that he should be released on bail on the condition that he is banned from leaving the country, report to a police station once a week, deposit 80,000 TL in cash as bail, and bring two individuals must each sign a bail bond of 400,000 TL.
