Individual stopped for alcohol test found to be living in north Cyprus without a permit
A suspect who was stopped by traffic police, caused a disturbance during an alcohol check. Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect did not have legal status in the country.
The incident happened at around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday April in Gazimağusa, when 31-year-old F.Y., who was stopped by traffic police, reacted angrily to being subjected to an alcohol test and disturbed the public by shouting loudly.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, F.Y. was found to be under the influence of 194 milligrams of alcohol and was arrested on the spot.
During the subsequent investigation, immigration records revealed that F.Y. was residing in the country without legal status or a valid residence permit.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
