Individual fined over 80,000 Turkish Lira for illegal taxi operation in Kyrenia

An individual who was found operating illegal taxi in Kyrenia was fined 86,000 TL.

According to the statement made by the Police Press Office, the incident took place on the morning of April 11, 2025, on Kyrenia Naci Talat Street.

Kyrenia Traffic Branch Chiefdom teams, who were on patrol, stopped a moving vehicle and determined that the driver was providing taxi service without permission.

According to the police statement, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was operating without an “A” business permit, that is, carrying out illegal transportation activities, and the person concerned was given a fine of 86,938 TL and 50 penalty points.

It was emphasized that the penalty in question was intended to deter individuals who engage in commercial passenger transportation without legal permission. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
