Four individuals who were found dealing in illegal drugs were arrested and detained.
The suspect TFH, JAT, AM, and YK were arrested following a search carried out at their residence in Haspolat on Friday.
They were brought to court on Saturday April 5 on charges of "Illegal Possession and Acquisition of Drugs".
At the hearing, police prosecutor told the court that a team of police on April 4, 2025, went to the Cyprus International University Dormitory located in Haspolat to carry out a court-authorized search in the residence of TFH and JAT, who live at the same address.
The police said five hand-rolled cigarettes believed to contain a mixture of tobacco and illegal drugs were found and seized as evidence. Following the discovery, the suspects were arrested.
During the investigation, further searches were carried out—also with court warrants—at the the Cyprus International University New Dormitory, where suspects AM and YK reside. In their presence, six hand-rolled cigarettes believed to contain a mixture of tobacco and illegal drugs were found, along with approximately 2 grams of a substance believed to be an illegal drug and a gray digital scale suspected to have drug residue on it.
The suspects were subsequently brought to the police station. The officer noted that the suspects' statements would be verified and that the substances seized would be sent for analysis. He requested that the suspects remain in police custody for an initial period of 3 days to allow for further investigation.
