Driver fined over 60,000 Turkish Lira for not obeying "Stop" order

A driver who did not comply with the police's order to stop was fined over 60,000 TL and 135 penalty points, on the grounds that he had previously reached 100 penalty points.

Traffic teams affiliated to the Kyrenia Police Department reported that during the traffic control they carried out on Kordon Boyu Street on April 8, 2025, the driver of a vehicle they wanted to stop for control purposes did not comply with the police's "stop" warning and fled the scene with his vehicle.

The vehicle and its driver were identified following an examination of the City Security Systems records.

Investigation by the police revealed that the driver's licence had previously been revoked because he had reached 100 penalty points and therefore escaped inspection.

The person was given a total fine of 60 thousand 856.60 TL and 135 penalty points due to the traffic offenses he committed.
