Cyprus deports 15 illegal immigrants on Friday, nearly 4,000 since January
Another 15 third country nationals residing in Cyprus illegally were repatriated on Friday during a joint operation between the authorities and Frontex.
The flight was arranged by the Greek authorities, according to the police.
This was the fifth time the migration department participated in joint Frontex operations this year.
Since January, 3,737 individuals residing in Cyprus illegally have been voluntarily repatriated, compared to 2,901 during the same period last year.
During the first three months of 2024, 624 illegal immigrants arrived min Cyprus, compared to 2,981 in the first quarter last year.
The police said the effort would continue.
