Woman remanded for trying to sell two apartments without authorization
An individual who was arrested for selling a property without authorization and obtaining money through fraud has been remanded fr two days.
The suspect, BK, a Turkish national was arrested in Lefkoşa on March 18 and brought to court on charges of forging documents and obtaining money through fraud.
The suspect is accused of, on December 17-18, 2024, forging a sales agreement for two apartments in the Dumlupınar Area of Lefkoşa, even though she had no authorization to. She allegedly made an agreement to sell the apartments to another person for 160,000 Sterling and obtained 21,000 Sterling through fraud.
The incident came to light when the police were informed, and an investigation led to the suspect's arrest. During a search at her residence in Göçmenköy, the police found 1,000 Sterling, which was seized as evidence.
The police also stated that they are searching for another individual involved in the case. They clarified that the property owner had given the keys to the apartments for the purpose of showing them to potential buyers but had not yet listed them for sale due to incomplete documentation. The keys were provided solely to help find potential buyers.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police requested an additional 2 days to continue their inquiries.
