Woman fined in north Cyprus for using a mobile phone while driving
Authorities in north Cyprus has fined a woman for using a mobile phone while driving.
The driver named as Ebru Törehan, a Gurkish Cypriot woman recorded a video of herself using a mobile phone while driving in Lefkosa.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, an investigation was launched by the police following the sharing of the video showing a driver using a mobile phone while driving in Lefkosia.
As a result of investigations carried out by the Traffic Teams of the Lefkosia Police Department, the driver in question was identified, and legal action was taken against her on Monday March 10.
The driver was fined 1,810.30 TL for using a mobile phone while driving and was also given 15 penalty points on her license.
Police officials urged drivers to comply with traffic rules and avoid distractions while driving, emphasizing that any violation endangering traffic safety would be monitored and subjected to legal action.
