Two sent to prison for drugs

Two individuals who were caught with cannabis and MDMA-type pills during an operation that started in Famagusta and extended to Lefkosia by the Famagusta Narcotics Branch teams, were sent to prison.

They were brought to court on Thursday March 27 on charges of drug possession.

Police officer who testified against them in court said on March 18, the police received information that the suspect AT had drugs in his possession and that they went to the suspect's residence.

The police said as a result of the search conducted in the presence of the suspect, 155 grams of cannabis and 108 MDMA-type drug pills were found in packaged packages, and that they confiscated 720 dollars, 160 pounds and 120 euros, which were believed to have been obtained from drug sales.

Recalling that the suspect confessed that he had bought the drugs from MSA on March 14 for 2,400 Euros.

An operation was carried out on the MSA’s house in Lefkosa and that they found 170 grams of cannabis-type drugs in the suspect’s possession.

Police said the suspects were brought to court twice and a total of 10 days of additional detention orders were issued.

Police said that the necessary investigation was carried out during this period and the results of the analysis were obtained.

The police stated that both suspects had similar crimes and requested they be detained until trial.

The judge ordered that the suspects be sent to prison for a term not exceeding 2 months.
