Turkish Lira loses ground against the Euro: Exceeds 40 TL mark
The Euro broke a record against the Turkish lira by exceeding 40 TL for the first time.
Euro/TL parity was traded at 40.01 TL as of 4.44 pm Turkish time on March 11.
This record level came after the rise in the Euro/dollar parity. Trump's economic policies, especially additional customs duties, increased fears of recession in the US. For this reason, the Euro/dollar rose to 1.09 for the first time since November.
The Euro gained 5.8 percent against the dollar throughout 2024.
And in 2025, the Euro/TL exchange rate rose by 9.3 percent.
