Three foreigners with plans to enter south Cyprus illegally arrested for forming a secret alliance

Three foreigners with secret plans to enter south Cyprus illegally from the north were arrested by Turkish Cypriot police for forming a secret alliance.

The three suspects identified as MB, ZRM and EMN and a 2-year-old child were caught and arrested in Gemikonağı on Saturday March 22.

They were brought to court on Sunday on charges of forming a secret alliance to commit a serious crime'.

The police stated that the suspects were acting suspiciously at around 21:30 on March 22nd at the Serhatköy Primary School location when their identity was checked by police teams.

The police reported that in the investigation carried out, it was determined that the suspects had agreed with an unidentified in Lefke on the same date to take them to Southern Cyprus illegally and that they had paid this person a total of 800 euros as part of this agreement.

The police stated that an investigation had been launched following their arrest and that there were statements to be taken, camera footage to be examined and there is a wanted person.

The police, requested that the court extend their detention period by 3 more days.

The judge who evaluated the testimony in court ordered the suspects to be detained for 3 days.

The judge also ordered the 2-year-old child to remain under the supervision of social services.
