Third countries blacklists northern Cyprus universities: TRNC member of parliament
Universities in northern Cyprus has been blacklisted by third countries as many countries no longer send students to the country, said TRNC member of Parliament.
The development was announced by TRNC member of Parliament, Sami Özuslu of the opposition party, the CTP.
According to Sami, who spoke on the subject “What is happening in higher education?”, he stated that universities are struggling with serious problems.
He said EMU has nothing to do with fake or undeserved diplomas saying that, "The old is as good as the old."
Özuslu stated that third countries had “blacklisted” universities in the north of Cyprus and explained that some countries had decided not to send students to Cyprus.
He noted EMU’s inability to increase the number of students as an extremely serious danger.
Speaking on YÖDAK’s report, regarding the Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University, he said that a total of 543 diplomas were submitted to the Personnel Department and 152 of these were received from the Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University.
Özuslu called on the government and all authorities to "do what is necessary" in line with the report.
*** Third countries in this context are countries outside of north Cyprus and Turkey. North Cyprus here is the first country and Turkey the second country.
