Man arrested in Famagusta, north Cyprus for insulting Atatürk
A individual who insulted Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, was arrested today in Mağusa.
The individual, identified as M.Ç. a 44-year-old man was arrested in a gym in Mağusa on Saturday for insulting Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey.
The police in a statement said: On March 29, 2025, at approximately 14:15, M.Ç. (M-44) was arrested by the police within the scope of an investigation for insulting Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and causing a disturbance at a gym in Gazimağusa.
The investigation is ongoing.
