Four injured in five different accidents in north Cyprus, student in intensive care
No less than four people were injured in various traffic accidents across north Cyprus in the last two days.
It was determined that all the drivers involved in the accident were under the influence of alcohol.
According to police press release, one of the accident occurred on the Küçük Erenköy Tatlısu main road in the early Saturday morning when the driver of a vehicle identified only as CSS, 27, lost control while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The vehicle went off the road, hit a traffic sign in the water channel, then entered the road again and landed on its roof.
Walter Tawanda Charı, 29, a passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured. He was taken to the Famagusta State Hospital and then to the Lefkosia State Hospital Intensive Care Unit where he was treated.
The driver of the vehicle, was arrested.
In another accident that happened at around 3:00am in the Glapsides Beach parking area in Famagusta, YH, 29, who was under the influence of alcohol, lost control of the vehicle wheel due to carelessness and crashed into another vehicle parked in a parking area with the 21-year-old driver, SA inside.
SA and SM, 21 who was a passenger in the same vehicle, were injured in the accident and treated at the Famagusta State Hospital. SA was taken under observation in the emergency with a broken nose.
YH was arrested.
Also in Famagusta at the same time, AK, 21 lost control of his vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol and crashed into the wheel of a parked vehicle. The vehicle was thrown on impact and crashed into another the parked vehicle.
İK., 23, who was a passenger in the vehicle was slightly injured in the accident.
AK was arrested.
In Gazimağusa, yesterday, MG, 44 who was driving under the influence alcohol, hit a vehicle driven by SR, 25 going in the same direction close to Anıt roundabout. No one was injured in the accident.
Also DAE, 22 was injured in accident in Lefkosa on Saturday when he lost control of the vehicle close to the terminal roundabout while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The vehicle went up the roundabout, hit an electrical panel, then entered the road again uncontrollably, hitting the vehicle.
