Cyprus to deport 15 illegal migrants arrested in old Nicosia town raid
Authorities in south Cyprus on Wednesday said it detained 15 people on during a migrant raid in the walled city of Nicosia.
According to the police, all 15 people, identified as third-country nationals residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus, have already entered deportation proceedings.
The operation was conducted by the Aliens and Immigration Service as part of an ongoing effort between the Ministry of Justice, the Nicosia Municipality, and other state agencies to clamp down on undocumented migrants.
Cyprus deported 9,500 people in 2024, according to government figures.
