3.7 magnitude earthquake hit sea off Limassol, Cyprus
A mild earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred in the sea off Limassol, south Cyprus on Monday.
The tremor was felt by residents in several areas, although no injuries or damage have been reported so far.
The incident was confirmed by local authorities, who are monitoring the situation for any aftershocks or further seismic activity.
According to the statement made by the Seismology Service of the Meteorology Department, a mild earthquake occurred approximately 71 km away from the Lefke Earthquake Station at 08:04 on March 24, 2025.
The epicenter of the earthquake, which measured 3.7 on the Richter Scale, was detected at coordinates 34.47 North and 32.74 East, approximately 5 km deep in the sea off Limassol.
According to initial assessments, there were no reports of loss of life or property in the earthquake, but residents reportedly felt it slightly.
