Three people caught with indian hemp and cocaine in north Cyprus

Three people were arrested for drugs in an operation tagged “Package Operation” carried out by the police in Kyrenia.

According to police press release, the arrest was made within the scope of the operation carried out by Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Department teams in Girne at around 6:30 pm on Wednesday Feb. 26.

Police said 56 packages, a total of 180 grams of Indian hemp and 2 grams of cocaine type narcotics  that were packaged ready for sale in the possession of the suspects named only as İ.EL (24), K.Ş. (24) and Ö.G. (24).

A precision scale and materials used in packaging the narcotics were also detected and taken as evidence. 

The individuals in question were arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
