Shooting in Lefkosa: Suspect arrested at Ercan airport while trying to leave north Cyprus

An unidentified person entered a workplace in Lefkoşa and shot an individual before fleeing from the scene.

According to police report, the incident happehedn at around 3:15 PM, when an unidentified individual entered a business premises operating on Şht. Mustafa Ahmet Ruso Street in Lefkoşa and, for reasons yet to be determined, shot Ahmet Keskin in the right calf with a firearm.

The shooter escaped from the scene of the incident following the shooting.

Ahmet Keskin was taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment.

Police said the shooter was later apprehended by police at around 5:00 pm while attempting to leave the country through Ercan Airport. 

The weapon used by the attacker in the incident was also found.

The police investigation is ongoing.
