The suspect was brought to court on Wednesday on charges of "Unlawful possession, distribution, importation, and trafficking of drugs."

Police in a court testimony said they received a tip-off on January 13, 2025, stating that the suspect was in possession of and selling drugs.

The police stated that the suspect was located and detained on Bolu Street on the same day. During a body search, six separate pieces of foil paper containing a substance believed to be 6 grams of cannabis, as well as 7,500 TL in cash believed to be from drug sales, were found in the pocket of the tracksuit the suspect was wearing, and these were seized as evidence.

The police officer further stated that the suspect was arrested and an investigation was initiated. In his statement, the suspect explained that he had communicated via WhatsApp with an individual he knew from living in South Cyprus on December 31, 2024. Through this person, the suspect received 56 grams of drugs from a wanted individual in Lefkosia.

The police also reported that between January 31, 2024, and January 13, 2025, the suspect sold 15 grams of drugs to various individuals, earning 12,000 TL, part of which he admitted to having spent.

The police officer noted that the investigation was still ongoing, and that the individuals who provided drugs to the suspect, as well as those who bought drugs from him, were being sought. Additionally, the seized substances would be sent for analysis.
