Drunk driver and passenger attack police officer during traffic check in Kyrenia

A drunk driver hit a police officer during traffic search in Kyrenia last night while a passenger in the vehicle swore at a police officer.

The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning on Uğur Mumcu Boulevard in Kyrenia during the traffic control by the teams affiliated to the Kyrenia Police Department.

According to police press statement, during the traffic check, the driver of the vehicle, S.Ö., 22 who was under the influence of alcohol, hit the head of a police officer while he was being tested with a breathalyzer.

An individual, B.Ş.B., 22 who was a passenger in the same vehicle and also under the influence of alcohol, got out of the vehicle, swore at the police officers and then kicked them. 

The people in question, who also caused a disturbance to the surroundings by shouting loudly, were arrested.
