45 people arrested in south Cyprus for living in the country illegally
Forty-five people were arrested on Sunday in south Cyprus for residing illegally in the country.
In a statement, the police said that members of the Aliens and Immigration Service conducted a coordinated operation across the country this morning (Sunday January 19), in the framework of the detection and arrest of persons residing illegally in the territory of the Republic.
During the operation, 45 persons were identified and arrested for the offence of illegal stay in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
For the above persons, repatriation procedures have been started,
while another 16 persons have been repatriated to their countries of
origin today.
