Man banned from leaving North Cyprus caught trying to leave the country hidden in a truck

A 25-year-old man who was banned from leaving north Cyprus abroad due to ongoing court case was found trying to exit the country via the Famagusta port hiding in a truck.

According to information provided by the Police Press Office, the discovery was made at the Famagusta port at around 8:00 PM on Friday November 22.

It was discovered that M.D.K. 25, who is prohibited from leaving the country by court order due to previous crimes, was being hidden in a truck by one M.G. (50) in an attempt to board a ship without completing immigration procedures. 

The individuals were detected by on-duty customs officers and subsequently arrested.

The police investigation is ongoing.
