Two detained for illegal residency in north Cyprus

Two students who were found living in north Cyprus without a resident permit were detained for 3 days by a north Cyprus court.

The individuals, OOA and FTA were arrested by a police team at around 11:00am on Sunday, February 4, in Haspolat after they were found living in the country without a resident permit.

They were taken to the Lefkosia district court on Tuesday.

Police told the court, that one of them, OOA, had been in the country without a residence permit for a total of 294 days since FTA for a total of 624 days since May 21, 2022.

Police stated that an investigation has been launched against the suspects and requested that the suspects be detained for 3 days.
