Police finds drugs in apartment in Kyrenia, arrest 7 foreigners

Turkish Cypriot police on Thursday night raided a house in Kyrenia because of noise coming out of the apartment, found drugs in the house and arrested 7 people.

The suspects, who are students in the country and between the ages of 23 and 27 were arrested at about 10:30pm on Thursday, May, 13 and taken to the Kyrenia District Court on Friday and detained for 3 days each.

Police said their attention were drawn to the apartment following a complaint about a loud noise.

A search was carried out in the apartment from 10:50pm to 11:50pm and a substance believed to be a drug mixed with species was found in a package on the table in the hall.

Two of those arrested were outside the apartment. Police said they found a substance believed to be a cannabis type drug weighing about 40 grams in a blue nylon bag with pop corn on it in their possession. 

They were detained for 3 days for investigation purposes.
