A heroic pet dog died saving family from cobra that tried to get into their home (photos)

Pet dog died trying to stop a cobra coming into her family’s home. Pregnant Nong Horm was found dead alongside the 4ft long snake in the front yard in Pathum Thani, central Thailand, on Tuesday night.

Two-year-old Nong Horm was found dead alongside the 4ft long reptile in the front yard in Pathum Thani, central Thailand, on Tuesday (Feb 18) night. Tragically, the dog was in the final stages of pregnancy and was carrying around 10 baby puppies in her stomach. Heartbreaking footage shows owner Buncherd Praprom, 35, lying next to the dying pit bull, which had suffered several bites around her mouth. The monocled cobra, one of the deadliest snakes in the world, was in the last stages of life having been wounded by the protective dog. Its powerful venom would have killed the dog within a few minutes. Buncherd's older Suriyon Chanthakhet, 51, said the family pet lived with them all in the property.
