Thoughts and Encounters Uncategorized: First of the last day!
Welcome to this week's episode of Thoughts and
Encounters Uncategorized. This week we have a very interesting story that will keep up on your toes till the end...
Yesterday, i read a tweet “If today was your last day ever, how would you spend it?”. After brief thought i replied, “Writing“. even though the thought was short within it contained a 1000 words.
I would want to spend my last day with my family, who wouldn’t? Maybe help my mum wash the plates that i always refuse to wash. Maybe help my dad wash his car to his satisfaction, at least for once he wouldn’t complain. Most especially i would like to tell them “Thank you!”. They have been wonderful parents and great examples. Always did their best for me.
If i had kids i would want spend time with them too. i would want them to know i loved them. i would want to advice them about the pitfalls of life. How to avoid it if possible but especially how to endure them when they come. I would want to ask my wife to honestly tell now that i was dying what exactly she saw in me that made her decide to marry me.
I would want t spend time with my friends many of which i have shared memories: birthdays, graduations, weddings, suspensions, hunger, hangovers, life. i would like one last HOORAH! before i die.
I would like to see places, all thee wonders of the world, i would like to fly, to be the pilot, a first class passenger, and in a private jet. i would really want to read “The pilgrim’s progress” a book i have heard and read so much about but never really gotten around to read.
It would be nice to see some of my favourite tv shows. Football!!! it would be sad if Manchester United didn’t play on that day. I’ll like Rachel Maddow to explain something political, starting as she always does from an arbitrary unrelated subject and then gradually build up to the main point as she always does.
Music!!! One republic, Adele, Jason Mraz, Bob Marley, The Fray, Sia, Eminem,Frank Sinatra, Stromae, Fela, Dbanj, songs I love, songs I loved, songs i listened to in love and songs that helped me through break-ups. Watch “Sound of Music” and “Coming to america”.
Then i realised, it wont all matter, how does washing plates and cars help a dying man. how do make my children know i love them in one day? One last HOORAH? reading a book? and flying a plane? how much music will prepare you for death?
I said replied “Writing” because i would want to leave something of me behind. Something that gave insight to my thought and deeds. something i can be remembered by, Something that has a chance of living long after i am gone.
I’ll write to my mum and my dad. I’ll write to my kids. i’ll will write about love and to my love. i’ll write for my friends and about them. i will write about the world and for the world. i will write what i think and what i thought.
This is me living everyday like its my last!
