Oprah Winfrey says her years as talk show host was her greatest ‘therapy’'
US media mogul, Oprah Winfrey has revealed that her famous talk show was her greatest therapy. Winfrey became a force in the
entertainment industry after helping everyday people tackle problems in
their life on her very popular daytime daily talk show, but they weren’t
the only ones getting help, as it also impacted on her life, along with
millions of others.
The former talk-show host sat down with PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly Editorial Director Jess Cagle to chat about her new HBO movie The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks — and opens up about her years of help.
In all those years on her talk show' she believes one of the big perks of hosting "The Oprah
Winfrey Show" for 25 years was getting to apply what she learned from
the guests on her show to her own life.
Winfrey, a renowned motivational speaker and talk show host, remains to be one of the most influential media moguls on television."I had never gone to a therapist, ever. But I had so many therapists sitting in the chair across from me that I just sort of took it in. The Oprah Winfrey Show was my greatest therapy.
It was the greatest teaching. It was the greatest classroom and it was my greatest therapy. I came out of it a better human being having listened to everybody’s stories.”
