Two Turkish militants blow selves up near Ankara

Turkey: Two car suicide bombers have been killed after they blew themselves up in a remote area in the outskirts of Ankara after police ordered them to surrender on Saturday.

The Governor of Ankara, Erkan Topaca said the two bombers died in the incident outside a horse farm but no one else was hurt.

Topaca said the bombers are believed to be linked to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a group responsible for series of suicide car bombings over the past year and are believed to have been in possession of plastic explosives and 200 kg of ammonium nitrate found at the scene of the incident.

According to reports, a third person is being sought.

The state-run Anadolu Agency said the two militants were preparing to carry out a car bomb attack when the blast occurred in countryside on the road from Ankara to the town of Haymana.
