City and Chelsea ready to bid for Aubameyang
Manchester City and Chelsea are leading the chase for in demand Borussia Dortmund
forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Daily Mirror.
Aubameyang will leave Dortmund this summer, the paper claims, and City
and Chelsea lead the chase for the former Saint-Etienne man, with Real Madrid, the Gabon international's preferred choice of next club, under a transfer ban for the next two windows.
Michail Antonio set to earn second new contract at West Ham
Michail Antonio has scored five times in seven matches for West
Ham in the Premier League this season, and it seems likely that the
London club will reward the England midfielder's form, according to the
Mirror. Antonio signed a new contract earlier this year, but is likely
to be offered fresh terms at the London Stadium.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has already talks with Antonio after his impressive start to the season.
"We’ve had a few talks. Make no mistake, he was confident before, he's a very confident lad. All he has to do now is not to change - not to change the way he plays, the way he trains, everything, and we have to help him with that," Bilic said.
Antonio has yet to make his debut for England, but could feature against Malta on Saturday or Slovenia on Tuesday.
Gareth Southgate 'caught up in £434m tax avoidance dispute'
Gareth Southgate takes charge of England for the first time in a
World Cup qualifier against Malta at Wembley on Saturday, but the
Mirror claims the interim England manager could have bigger headaches
away from football. The newspaper's front page claims Southgate is one
of hundreds of rich clients embroiled in a £434m tax avoidance dispute.
Southgate has apparently been hit with a tax demand by HM
Revenue and Customs after joining the investment firm Ingenious back in
2004.
Aston Villa 'snubbed' by David Wagner who prefers to stay at Huddersfield
The Daily Mail claims Aston Villa have failed to persuade David
Wagner to leave Huddersfield to become their new manager. Wagner was
wanted by Villa
to replace sacked Robero Di Matteo, but is appears he will opt against
joining their Championship rivals. Wagner, 44, was appointed
Huddersfield manager in November 2015, and had previously managed
Borussia Dortmund II between 2011 and 2015.
